2. Hosting and delivery
Hosting in Germany
We operate this website on a WordPress installation managed by MONKS. Its public network connection uses server infrastructure operated by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. Technical connection data, including IP addresses, requested URLs, browser and operating-system information, and access times, may be processed to deliver and protect the website.
The processing serves our legitimate interest in providing a reliable and secure website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. For information about the provider, see Hetzner’s privacy policy. We use WordPress for website administration; administrative logins may use technically necessary authentication cookies.

Privacy
We take the protection of your personal data seriously. We handle it confidentially and in accordance with applicable data-protection law and this notice.
Use of this website involves the collection of personal data, meaning information that can identify you. This notice explains what data is collected, how and why it is processed, and what it is used for.
Internet data transmission, including email communication, can have security vulnerabilities. Complete protection against third-party access is not possible.
Controller
The controller responsible for processing data on this website is:
MONKS Handels GmbH
Toyota-Allee 27–47a · Building 29

A controller is the natural or legal person who, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of processing personal data, such as names and email addresses.
Retention periods
Unless a more specific period is stated, we retain personal data until the processing purpose no longer applies. If you make a justified deletion request or withdraw consent, we delete the data unless another lawful retention reason applies, such as tax or commercial-law retention duties. In that case, deletion occurs once those reasons cease to apply.
General information about legal bases
Where you consent, we process data under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR or, for special categories under Article 9(1), Article 9(2)(a). Where you expressly consent to transfers to third countries, Article 49(1)(a) also applies. Consent to cookies or access to information on your device, such as device fingerprinting, additionally involves Section 25(1) TDDDG. Consent may be withdrawn at any time. Processing required for a contract or pre-contractual steps is based on Article 6(1)(b); processing required by law is based on Article 6(1)(c). Processing may also rely on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f). The relevant bases are explained in the sections below.
Recipients of personal data
Our business involves working with external organisations, which can require transfers of personal data. We share data only where necessary to perform a contract, required by law, such as disclosure to tax authorities, justified by a legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR or permitted by another legal basis. Data is provided to processors only under a valid data-processing agreement. Joint processing requires a joint-controller agreement.
Withdrawal of consent
Some processing requires your express consent. You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
Right to object in particular circumstances and to direct marketing (Article 21 GDPR)
WHERE PROCESSING RELIES ON ARTICLE 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU MAY OBJECT AT ANY TIME ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION, INCLUDING TO PROFILING BASED ON THOSE PROVISIONS. THE APPLICABLE BASIS IS STATED IN THIS NOTICE. FOLLOWING AN OBJECTION, WE WILL STOP PROCESSING THE RELEVANT DATA UNLESS WE DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS OVERRIDING YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR PROCESSING IS REQUIRED TO ESTABLISH, EXERCISE OR DEFEND LEGAL CLAIMS (ARTICLE 21(1)).
WHERE DATA IS PROCESSED FOR DIRECT MARKETING, YOU MAY OBJECT AT ANY TIME, INCLUDING TO RELATED PROFILING. AFTER AN OBJECTION, YOUR DATA WILL NO LONGER BE USED FOR DIRECT MARKETING (ARTICLE 21(2)).
Right to complain to a supervisory authority
If the GDPR is infringed, you may complain to a supervisory authority, particularly in the member state of your habitual residence, workplace or the alleged infringement. This does not affect other administrative or judicial remedies.
Right to data portability
You may request data that we automatically process on the basis of consent or a contract in a commonly used, machine-readable format, for yourself or a third party. Direct transfer to another controller is provided where technically feasible.
Access, correction and deletion
Under applicable law, you may obtain information free of charge about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the processing purpose, and may have rights to correction or deletion. Contact us about these rights or other personal-data questions.
Restriction of processing
You may request restriction of processing by contacting us. This right applies in the following circumstances:
- If you dispute the accuracy of stored data, you may request restriction while we verify it.
- If processing is unlawful, you may request restriction instead of deletion.
- If we no longer need the data but you need it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, you may request restriction instead of deletion.
- If you object under Article 21(1) GDPR, you may request restriction while it is determined whose interests prevail.
Restricted data may, apart from storage, be processed only with consent, to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, to protect another natural or legal person’s rights, or for important public-interest reasons of the EU or a member state.
SSL/TLS encryption
The hosted website uses HTTPS to protect data transmitted between your browser and the website. You can identify this by the https:// address.
Sending an email from your email application is a separate process. Its transmission security depends on the email services involved.
Objection to unsolicited advertising emails
We object to the use of contact details published in the legal notice for sending advertising or information not expressly requested. We reserve the right to take legal action against unsolicited advertising, including spam emails.
4. Data collection and contact
Cookies and website services
The cookie notice explains technically necessary functions. Once you confirm it, only your notice choice is stored in your browser’s local storage as monks_cookie_notice_v1 for 180 days. No visitor ID or browsing history is created. You can reopen the notice using “Cookie information” in the footer. Storage serves to manage your notice choice under Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG. This does not constitute consent to analytics or marketing services; no such services are used here. Administrative logins may use technically necessary authentication cookies.
MONKS does not use its own analytics or advertising trackers on these pages. Images and website files are delivered through the host. Technically necessary platform operations and, where applicable, sign-in are additionally covered by the platform’s privacy information.
Contact and appointment form
The form accepts your name, company, email address, subject and message. It prepares an email to contact(a)trademonks.de in your email application. Form entries are not transmitted to or stored on a MONKS form server. The message is transmitted only when you send it from your email application.
After receipt, we use your information to handle the enquiry and, where applicable, take pre-contractual steps. Depending on the enquiry, Article 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR applies. Statutory retention duties remain unaffected.
Enquiries by email, telephone or fax
If you contact us by email, telephone or fax, we store and process your enquiry and the personal data it contains, such as your name and request, to handle your concern. Disclosures are made only within the legal bases described under ‘Recipients of personal data’.
Processing relies on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where an enquiry concerns performance of a contract or required pre-contractual steps. Otherwise, it relies on our legitimate interest in handling enquiries efficiently under Article 6(1)(f), or on consent under Article 6(1)(a) where requested. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.
Information sent with an enquiry remains with us until you request deletion, withdraw storage consent or the purpose ends, for example once your enquiry has been handled. Mandatory statutory provisions, particularly retention duties, remain unaffected.
5. External links
This website links to external services, such as Google Maps for directions. Maps and social-media content are not embedded. Following an external link leaves this website; subsequent processing is governed by that provider’s privacy information.
No newsletter registration form is currently included on these pages.
General privacy information is based on the existing MONKS privacy notice, originally sourced from e-recht24.de. Address, hosting and functionality details have been adapted for this website.
6. Document search
The document search is designed to query product information live from Weclapp on the server. The entered EAN or item number is used for the search. Our application code does not store a search history. The hosting platform may independently generate technical logs.
Processing serves our legitimate interest in providing product information and documents under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Until the Weclapp connection is configured, documents may be requested by email.
